I watched some of the trial today that included footage of George Floyd's death as seen and heard from several police body cams.

I was struck by how many times Floyd said he couldn't breathe *before* they pinned him to the ground.

And they didn't give a shit.

I'm no police expert or anything, but isn't it generally accepted that when someone in handcuffs says they can't breathe YOU GET THEM MEDICAL HELP?!

Can't wait to hear him explain why narcan wasn't administered when he makes his drug overdose defense.

My guess is that, at the end of the day, the jury will claim it was just an accident or the result of poor training and acquit him since he had no intention of killing Floyd. He won't get his job back and half the country will go up in flames.

I'm thinking the reverse and the other half of the country will go up in flames.

I fear half the country is going up in flames either way. It will only determine who strikes the match.

guilty on all counts, including 2nd degree murder.
if he gets sentenced along guidelines, he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Given how quickly the verdict came back it's clear the jurors had no doubts - nothing to debate.

10 hours is just barely enough to review the evidence.

If the jurors had any questions it would have taken far longer than that. And you can expect that they would have returned to ask the judge for guidance on points of law.

As expected I'm seeing any number of claims on Facebook and elsewhere that the trial was unfair. That the jury was paid off. And so forth.
