Nearly 300,000 minors under the age of 18 were legally married in the U.S. from 2000 to 2018, according to a recent study. States with the highest per-capita rates of child marriage include Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Nevada and Oklahoma.

They are not all forced and I can't believe Utah didn't make the list. I grew up with several girls who married before they were 18. Two graduated high school with me at age 17 and married their boyfriends shortly after. One was going into the military. One pregnant girl married the daddy, a slightly older guy. One dropped out of school at 16 and got married because she didn't know what else to do with her life.
