Has anyone seen or heard from jabra or KB lately? I sent jab an email a few days ago but haven't heard back. I know he travels a lot, so maybe he's on the road....

I would not count on jab disappearing longer than a few days. he will get back to you, I am sure.

Thanks for that reassurance, mac. I was just wondering how he's doing. Same with KB. I feel like you are all family and I worry.

Thanks for thinking of me, Roseanne. I have been a busy bee. Moved form NC to Maryland in Sept. Had /have some heath issues (cataract surgery among them)and my son had to come down and stay with me for a bit. He and his wife bought a home with a basement suite and he wanted me to move in with them. I was alone for the most part as all friends and neighbors either moved or died, and my complex was sold to people not competent to run it. It was going downhill fast while raising rents to the max.

Moving has been very hectic and wrought with all kinds of frustrating and new issues, my knees giving out, getting sciatica, and finding out i have osteoporosis is among them. I feel like I am falling apart in increments. It is hard to get out and about and cannot even get on a step stool - there are steps here in and out of the house and to go to the upper level. So it is not an easy adjustment all around. Making new friends is not going to be easy, but getting to know new doctors though is a snap. In doing so and doctors here being so thorough (as it is evident now totally opposed to where I previously lived), I feel like the only place I go now are to Drs offices. The upside is I am not alone and my son and his wife are doing everything to make me feel comfortable and welcomed. The apartment is small but lovely. Just had to downsize my possessions, and still have more to go.

Aren't you glad you asked lol. . I have been reading here but had not been motivated to post until you asked about me - thank youu for the thought and I am so glad you are on the mend :)

Wow KB, a LOT going on with you. It is such a chore to move, especially that far. I'm glad you're getting settled in and so happy you are with family. There is comfort in that. So sorry for your health problems. I always say that my social life in going to the doctor/hospital, going to the pharmacy and the grocery store. I fell apart when I turned 65, lol My hubby has been having a lot of sleep problems and minor depression too. I think the Covid crap is getting to him, working with the public. He told me a couple of days ago "I feel broken" :( We can't yet go visit the grands in Alabama, but since he must take his vacation days, we are planning an "in Province" driving trip at the end of November. Visit the west coast. See the Pacific for the first time and just toodle about for a week. It will be good to get away for something other than surgery. :b

Thanks so much for posting! Take care hon.

Unfortunately I see we have much in common with our social lives and outings. Lets hope that changes for the better for both of us. Maybe it will for you as it sounds like you will get a real vacation from all the trials and tribulations you have gone through - you certainly deserve it.. .

KB, welcome to the neighborhood! The DMV, so to speak.
I think there is some kind of medical conspiracy going on around here because whenever I go to doctor I inevitably have to have several more appointments for test, specialists, and therapies.
You must be in the area, because I see someone is already calling you hon, hon. ;) ;)

Queenie, Yes, and it happened to me again just the other day. Doc said had a weird result on a test he did on a whim and wants me to do another one. I moved to Baltimore are you in that area of Maryland?

From one hon to another - Hi Neighbor :) I find it to be a strange mish-mosh of old and new alongside one another. I am originally from NYC so expected it to be more like that, it is not. Nothing is really close by either, you have to drive all over to get anything, at least where I am. Lots of good restaurants though. Driving here is worse than DC and I thought that was bad - I gave my son my car and said no way is this 'Nervous Nellie' driver to begin with, going to drive anywhere here. I would be lost in NY minute. Not even in an emergency, as I would become the emergency.

I live in a lovely and friendly neighborhood so that is a plus. Maybe when my knees get better I can explore the finer points of Baltimore, but as of now it is nowhere as convenient or have the variety of stores where I used live. Also, most stores and medical facilities were nearby, not much more than 20 minutes away, not so here. As an aside, my son and his wife love it here, they moved from DC. They are out and about and into so many activities, and have already gotten a whole network of new friends. So I am careful not to share my less than glowing views, especially since they are doing everything under the sun to make me feel comfortable and welcomed.

May take me awhile to become a Baltimorean although, maybe not an avid Orioles fan, but who knows that may change -. I did watch a game and found myself rooting for them :)

Hahaha the Orioles are so bad there is nowhere to go but up! Everyone loves an underdog. I moved to the city from Anne Arundel county a few years ago for the reasons you mentioned- had to drive everywhere. I live right in the city and now I just walk everywhere or take the water taxi if I want to get across the harbor in a hurry. I still have to drive to get to any big box stores. Thanks to COVID I now only drive to work 2 days a week and commute down one flight of stairs the other three.

I can't imagine where you are that you have to drive more than 20 minutes to medical facilities. There are hospitals all over the city with medical offices and labs on their campus.

I guess I can say on here that I live on Federal Hill without giving away TMI. Feel free to DM me and we can exchange more details if you want.

Seems there is some sort of glitch. . Maybe Jab knows what it is. He helped sooz with technical board issues. . The pm does seem to go through despite the error message, it may even duplicate them.. .

I haven't heard from jab yet. Since he hasn't responded here either, I'm a little worried about him. :(
