Walter White from 'Breaking Bad' will get a 'funeral' in Albuquerque next week, staged to raise money for the homeless.

But it's more than just an exercise in fan-boy fever; it's also an acknowledgment of the impact the AMC series about a chemistry teacher-turned-meth king has had on the city's and state's economy.

Plus, donations to attend, ranging from $20 to $5,000, will go to a charity Buzzell set up, Vernon's Steakhouse Walter White Endowment Fund at the Albuquerque Community Foundation, to benefit Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless "in memory of Walter White."

I managed to see *most* of the marathon, except for a few of the 3AM episodes (I'm only human!). Even though I'd seen it all before it was still every bit as compelling and delicious as the first time around.

Being able to watch the threads of this plot come together from the beginning was wonderful, such detail and nuance for every character, every inch of every set, no matter how minor. Good grief the camera work and lighting and editing should be required viewing for anyone who wants to make visual arts. (And the dark, dark humor was still funny, even when the situations were anything BUT funny.)

Breaking Bad Wins Five Primetime Emmy Awards, Including Outstanding Drama Series

Breaking Bad was honored with five wins at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards tonight, taking home the top prize for Outstanding Drama Series, as well as awards for Outstanding Lead Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actress and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.

Additionally, Breaking Bad was awarded for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. Moira Walley-Beckett accepted the award for her work on Season 5, Episode 16,”Ozymandias.”
