New series on Bravo.ca. Sigourney Weaver as Secretary of State. Suppose to be a 6 part series. Watched it tonight and they don't hold anything back. She has a gay, drug addicted son, who is shown in a very steamy kiss scene. Her other son is engaged to a bulimic who is shown throwing up after their engagement dinner. She's divorced from the previous POTUS, and ran unsuccessfully for President before becoming SoS.

Curse words are hurled, the seamy side of politics is explored with backroom deals. Reporters threaten to expose family secrets for a chance to shadow her for a week.

It was ok, but the editing and direction are lack luster, imo. Sigourney is great as always.  Maybe better the next time. I'll watch again to see.

Second show very good. I had forgotten that Ellen Burstyn is in it. Delightful! Sassy, but loveable.

Sigourney Weaver was on the Daily Show talking about it, last week I guess. She'll always be Ripley to me. Image

Aha! Sundays at 10. That explains why I keep missing it. It's up against Breaking Bad.

It's soapy and the story is very Clintonesque.  Brilliant couple, he's a serial womanizer but loves her.

Signourney looks good here.  I don't think people in real life would be discussing her ass as much as they do on the show, but she is regal looking.

I don't love it, but it holds my interest.

Instead of being soapy, after watching all of the episodes, I find it to be so close to real life it's scary. A family, albeit a political family, with all of the usual quirks and dysfunction of so many families. Drug and alcohol addiction, divorce, womanizing, cheating, bulimia and betrayal. Sadly, that could describe many families today.

The final episode threw a good plot twist in that surprised and shocked me!

I can't wait to watch next season. :)
