This is one of the best books I've read in a good long while ~ it's a "behind the scenes" story of the grooming of a candidate, Corey Grace, for POTUS up to and thru the convention ~ Corey has an independent streak and appears to be both the hero and a target within the Repub party ~ even tho he's a Repub, his mindset and beliefs are the antithesis of the neocons and far-right evangelicals so prevalent in today's Repub party ~ many of the characters are easily recognizable from the last few election cycles ~ but much of the cut-throat and vicious tactics of presidential politics are exposed ~ I found myself cheering for Corey even while experiencing anger and frustration at parts of the story ~ and the ending, while not what I expected, is stunning ~ it's a terrific, fast read ~
