Just to get away from politics for a bit. Was discussing movies with a friend, and mentioned three movies I loathed. Now, I have liked many movies, disliked many movies, loved many movies, but loathed very few in all my considerable years of watching movies. These are three I could think of off the top of my hat that I loathed:

1-American Beauty

2-Blue Velvet

3-Eyes Wide Shut

I am curious which movies you loathed or disliked to a great extent. Name as many as you like and you can give an explanation or just list them.

I've always been picky about movies ~ if I don't like the subject, I don't go ~ some movies have disappointed me with either the acting or the story line, but I can't say I've hated any movie I've seen ~

I also confess I have not gone out to a movie in years ~ I'm still a bit leery of being in crowds, so I'm content waiting for the movies to hit cable ~

I rarely go to movies these days either with the exception when my son visits, sometimes we go. I have cable also and pay per view so if I really want to see something I watch it on there. The movies I listed are older, and they left such a bad impression on my psyche I never quite forgot them.

Thinking of taking the grands to see Sherlock Gnomes when we go down next week. :D

Never saw any of those movies, KB.

We also do not go to theaters very often. Maybe once every few years for the great special effects of such movies as Star Trek etc. Better on the big screen.

Have to think about the loathed thing. Can't think of one off the top of my head.

Hmmm...movies I can't stand. That's a tough one, because even if I don't really like a plot or characters I'll try to focus on sets or lighting or music.

The Deer Hunter. I just don't understand why the wedding scene was sooooooo long.

Glengarry Glen Ross. We got stuck watching that one on a plane. There was no escape.

Howard The Duck. Need I explain? lol
