"Face Off" (Syfy TV show) is a reality competition series exploring the world of special-effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination which allows them to create amazing works of living art. Not only will Syfy's "Face Off" TV show incorporate effects make-up, it will include a wide range of skill sets including prosthetics, 3-D design, animatronics, sculpting, eye enhancers, puppeteering, casting and molding. Each episode of "Face Off" (Syfy) involves incredible reveals of the competitors' finished work, and the drama of one contestant being sent home by the panel of expert and celebrity judges. In Syfy's "Face Off" TV series, it all culminates in one winner and one grand prize that will launch a career!

Syfy has signed makeup artists Ve Neill (Pirates of the Caribbean[/i]) and Glen Hetrick (Heroes[/i]) and creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos (I am Legend[/i]) to serve as judges on Face Off[/i], a new reality-competition series set in the world of special effects and makeup. The series will feature 12 aspiring special effects artists competing for a chance to launch their career.

Watched the first episode last night...very cool, despite the "who's getting voted out" cheesy stuff.

Still enjoying this show when I do catch it. There's so much sculpting involved, so much work in multiple mediums....very interesting. I'd love to give it a try, actually.

I see two *clear* front-runners though. Their work is far, far above what some of the others are putting out. And geez...when things go bad, they go really bad....lol...
