We prefer pure escapist entertainment. From animated to sci-fi. We do not bother with the historical or preachy/moral kinds although I'm sure they are good.

I love to get lost in a movie. Immersed in the story and scenery. It's a time, for me, when all other thoughts like worries are forgotten. Watching a movie in a way, gives my mind a good rest. I always feel mentally refreshed after watching a good movie. Image (the one exception is a movie with no definitive ending like Inception.......drives me nutsImage)

Historical drama: The Mission, Last of the Mohicans, The Black Robe etc.

Historical or period pieces, sci-fi, some horror (as long as it's more suspense than gross), some action movies.

If I had to pick a genre...horror. (Buckets of blood and goo and slime horror is fine too. lol)

But I like all sorts of movies. Least favorite has to be musicals, but Little Shop of Horrors gets a pass.
