It hates me...

It's a machine. Machines can't hate. When I encountered a similar problem years ago, I finally got XP to install but it kept booting up to multiple errors. I tried rebooting in "Safe Mode" and the screen stayed black. I shut the system down and pulled the video card to inspect it. I was putting the card back in when I accidentally touched a capacitor... it crumbled like stale bread. It was then that I noticed all the capacitors surrounding the CPU were completely corroded.

These things have a shelf life and it depends less on the manufacturer brand than it does the source country.

Well, it is eight years old and has been on continuously since 2010.

Well... no wonder.
