Any chance we could get a "like" button on the board so we can like posts?

Stand alone, not FB integrated and for each post, not just a thread. I lurk a lot and would love to be able to like individual posts since I'm not much of a poster.

I too vote for stand-alone, not FB integrated and I like the idea of being able to "like" individual posts ~ but while I don't want this to get too complicated, is there a way for a "liked" post to trigger something on the index page to alert others that there's a "liked" post in a specific thread?

Well, the mod I'm looking at can do quite a bit like notifying the poster etc.
But, everything is made for subsilver and/or pro silver. I can't use the auto mod function without knowing how it affects our design.
I'll copy the board to my server and play there first.
On top of it the mod is in russian "english" LOL!

I think I have the like button working so far for topics.
Next challenge is to do it for single posts.

Jab, is that new Facebook like button showing up in threads part of your experimenting? ~ I'm asking because I saw a strange bot in our "who's online" last night ~ "Facebook [link check]" ~ I've never seen that before and it startled me ~

Yes.
It's still kind of experimental. Liking the topic works so far. Liking single posts not yet.
Even the size of the button, color, placement is still something I'm playing with.
But please feel free to like something so I can see the result.

It doesn't show up for me in FF or Chrome, only in Opera. I don't particularly like Opera (or Chrome, for that matter).
