I keep getting a pop-up window when I visit certain sites that tells me I need to update my Java. When I go to Oracle and check, it tells me that I have the latest version? Strange. I do NOT want to update or d/l anything that comes up on another site, but I can't use the site for games. What gives?

roseanne, the same thing happened to me recently with Pogo ~ I kept getting a similar pop-up and, each time I checked java.com, it told me I had the latest version ~ strangely, it only happened on some Pogo games, not all ~ after about a week or 10 days, I was on java.com again checking version and the latest version was about 10 versions higher ~ literally ~ once I updated, I haven't had any further problems ~ also, the java update process warns to be sure there are no older versions still on my computer, and provides a link to check that ~

The newest [allegedly current] version is java 7, version 45 ~ at least that's the current version for IE10 ~ not sure if it's the same for all browsers ~

Hopefully, jab will see this soon ~

Ok, so when I go to java.com here's what I get when it verifies:

Edited to add: I went back to the game site and when it prompted me, I clicked on the link to d/l java from some unknown site. When I got my pop-up to run or cancel, I cancelled and now I can play the game. Hmmmm. Very strange.
