I've had a Photobucket account for years that I rarely use, mostly because they keep changing things without notice ~ I'm not even sure that that account is still "live" ~ I've been hearing a lot of rave reviews about Dropbox ~ anyone here use it or know of less-than-positive reviews or potential problems?

What are you using Photobucket for? If it's for storing pictures/graphics, take a look at Postimage.org, Imgur.com or Imageshack.com. I've used for Postimage for about a year and it's very basic, just storage. Same with Imgur. Imageshack allows you to resize photos but no other editing. My only experience with Dropbox is with downloading graphics files from them.

Sooz, Dropbox is simple and easy. Have used it for picture sharing, other file types also. At work we used it to distribute practice audios for all the vocal parts of 6 choral concert pieces. Everyone could get the audio of their tenor (or alto, soprano or bass) parts, which the director had recorded for them, and I placed in Dropbox.

It's pretty mulch costless, too. There is an advanced version you can pay for, but why?
