I have a box with Ubuntu... I like it but the actual physical computer isn't up to snuff and I plan to replace it.

I've been waiting to "upgrade" to Windows 7 from XP Pro [I purposefully skipped Vista] ~ mostly, I've been waiting for someone else to be the guinea pig and try it first ~ Image ~ so I'll be very interested in hearing your review, Sid ~

So far I have nothing but praise for the people at Microsoft. They've finally come up with something really good. Windows 7 is not just an OS... it's an experience! Now I will admit that I do have a fair amount of horsepower on this machine and I suspect you will need it if you plan to move to Win 7.

My system specs:

2.6 GHz Intel Duo Core processor

4 GB RAM (less the upper limit so in effect approx. 3.5 GB)

1 GB GeForce 9500 XT graphics card

250 GB SATA hard drive

Dual Layer DVD Burner

OK... So I've now had this computer for about three weeks and really... no complaints. Windows 7 is fast, quiet (it runs without a whole lot of those "Warning! blah blah blah...." messages) and no crashes. Computing is a good experience once again!

I've been "Live - Streaming" news shows from CBC for the past few days. This is so cool! I don't miss TV at all.
