Ok, this is the cheapest post ever... but does anybody have experience with zmanda cloud backup? It apparently uses a S3 storage from Amazon and is incredibly cheap + good. But I'm interested in compression rates... hoping that it is even cheaper. Because with Amazon S3 you pay for storage AND data transfer. Still cheap, but a difference of 30% or more would be very welcome.

Why is this post cheap? Because I could try out the service for myself;)

I personally would never use "cloud" backup. My files are mine and I'll store them myself.

But sid, what if a fire breaks out or a thief steals your stuff? Amazon S3 is incredibly reliable, and you can put your data in european datacenters, so you have even more protection;)
