Another rant, but I need to vent.

Ok, so I've spent a lot of time on the landscaping here at our complex. Dozens of shrubs last fall. Some of them have  failed to thrive. I was going to get the landscape contractor to replace the ones he put in originally, and I was going to take pictures of the ones that I ordered from the nursery as I think they are guaranteed. Besides I wanted to get pics to show their placement and see what may have happened to them. About 7 or 8 of them are dead. May be the winter, I'm not sure.

Now however, some stupid bitch decided on her own to pull up the dead ones, took a couple of the good ones from the front of the property (the ones from the nursery) and planted them in the courtyard area (the ones the landscaper planted). GRRRRRRRRR! Now, I have no pictures and probably no recourse with the landscaper or the nursery. Damn her to think she can just move things around without consulting with the office. I'm not sure who she is or what unit she lives in, so I can't have the head office send her a letter asking that she not do anything without asking first. Image

Funny though, when I asked for volunteers last year for all the planting, this woman was nowhere to be found. Image

I should have chased her down and asked what she thought she was doing, but I'm not allowed really to do that with owners nor do I want to because it can cause problems. I must go through the head office. Sigh. People are so stupid. Besides, watching her replant the bushes, I don't think they will make it. She didn't really prepare the holes, then jammed the soil around the roots with her foot and body weight, and didn't bother to water them. I'm sure they will suffer some major shock.

Granted, I'm the dinosaur still using 3G on my cellphone, but have you tried to read a board via cellphone and scroll down to the first message after "stickies"? It's a nightmare, so much so that I just quit reading during my spare time. Image

Boohoohoo. jab. Ya crybaby! Try reading the boards on a computer. You know, that really monstrous dinosaur that sits on a desk? Image

I have a traditional cell phone, no Gs with mine, unless you count the one on the #4 key, no screen except for number/picture display and I've yet to text or BBM a damn thing. Image I can take pictures if I figure out how to do that......if I care that is. Image We did finally decide to add a ring tone or two after we figured that out. Image

love ya, man. You know I do. Image

I like texting. I just learned it a few months ago. That's the only way I communicate with my son.
I can holler, scream, call him on his phone to turn down the frikkin volume - futile! Doesn't even pick up his phone.
I text him, immediate response!

No. It still works like magic. Maybe his ears can only hear that text message ring tone?

Either that or he adds his own imagery when he reads the text. The mind's a funny thing sometimes.

My secretary texts me all the time instead of phoning.  First, I never notice the damn things are there for hours and secondly I could just about throttle her when I try to respond with my big fingers and those tiny, little buttons.

It only works with a slide-out full keyboard. Otherwise I can't even find the damn letters.

I can't fire her.  I'm scared of her.  Her other job is as a prison guard and sheriff.

So, about 170 acres of forest in NJ burned this week. Naturally, this is presented in the press as "uninhabited areas"- no man-made structures burned down, so all is well, right?

But I bet it matters a lot to the creatures that called that forest their home, if they were lucky enough to not be roasted to death in the first place. The forest is NOT "uninhabited", you morons.

Here in NW Arkansas we are hoping for rain...the grass is getting really crunchy and the 4th is coming up...Arkansas has laws in which if one is caught tossing out a cigarette butt one can get ticketed...they take forest fires very seriously...I realize brush, lightening, etc. all play a part in forest fires, but I think carelessness also factors in...I think forest fires are one of the saddest tragedies to occur in life and I too have often wondered about the wildlife trapped in a fire...too horrible.

Today's peeve: ignorant control freak managers. I feel sorry for the folks who have to put up with their BS!

The scene: Sam's. I already got accosted with the sales pitch to upgrade my membership at the door, no thanks, no thanks, no thanks...but that's not enough, they have to hit me with it again at checkout. So the gal starts the pitch, no thanks, no thanks, no thanks.....then I have to actually hit "no" electronically. The gal is pleasant, I'm giggling...along comes Godzilla the front end manager behind her with a snarky "Let's stay on script, okay?"

Script?? So naturally, I had a good time making fun of that, and control freaks, and made sure I was good and loud enough for the &^%$! to hear me.  Made it a point to offer my opinion that the cashier was owed an apology for the manner in which she was spoken to, and since I was sure the control freak wouldn't have the decency to do it, I apologized for her. Image Yes, she heard me. LMAO

ROFL, Chaos. I'm sure the cashier appreciated it. Image Script, my ass. High pressure sales people piss me off. I've left a store without making a purchase because the sales person didn't take the "No thanks, I'm just looking right now" hint.Image

My pet peeve for today: An office without A/C on hot days. Sigh.  Our boss came by and I told him that we now have room for a portable a/c since I got the new desk! Hint, hint. I won't press the issue this summer, but next summer all bets are off! At least I planted the seed. Maybe it will sprout this summer, depending on the board's approval and all.

Well the end of season AC sales should be kicking in soon, roseanne. Want me to stop by and complain about the heat and apologize for your boss who won't buy you one?Image

I always made sure I was well away from Calgary during Stampede Week... but not before I got my free pancake breakfast on the 8th Ave. Mall.

LOL, I have yet had to shovel even a spoonful of snow. Apartment/condo living has it's advantages.Image I have, however, had to clean up after slobs who don't know how to wipe their feet before they enter a lobby or hallway.  The dirty snow melt combined with the "precious" stones Image they put on the roads here is a freaking nightmare, not to mention the damn chips in the windshield after they get caught in tire tread, then slung.

Peeve of the day: Idiots who are too lazy to take their shopping carts to the return areas in the parking lot. Seriously, nobody is asking them to take the cart all the way back to the store door.
