I'm surprised they don't spend more time terrorizing dogs. That seems to be their favorite form of recreation around here.

I had one cat who would disappear for days at time. I always said: If she could only talk, what tales she would tell!

This was when we lived out in the country. I imagine she probably stalked all sorts of wildlife. I do know that she would eat what she caught near the house. I really cringed the day she caught a hummingbird (in mid flight while it was battling over the feeder!) and started crunching away. :(
