Just something that made me laugh and I thought I'd share.

My daughter has made a construction paper chain to count down the days before we arrive so that her daughter can understand.

She said that Hannah says every night: Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit when it gets to the last thing! (meaning the last link)

:lol

Of course the chain has gotten very short since they started it a couple weeks ago, so she is very excited. We leave in 8 days. Wooohoo!

It seems like you were getting ready to go just a year ago.

"Just" a year ago? Cripes, it seems like forever, especially with the way we have been slammed at work this year. lol

That is so cute Roseanne. I remember when Courtney was just a tot and her way counting down to a special event was to say "I have 7 (etc) more wake up days. She always went by the number of bedtimes before such event.

Dee, I did the "there are 5 more sleeps" sort of countdown to major things.

My youngest did the chain for her kids when they were set to go on vacation, so her sister borrowed it for our visit. It's great because it's a visual countdown they can understand like an advent calendar. "Sleeps" are a little confusing to kids who still nap, :b lol.

Flew over Calgary this afternoon. Did you see me wave to you, Roseanne?
