This article title made me laugh. I guess maybe they should outlaw "dark" or make it illegal to drive after dark. Are people really so stupid they must be told to drive carefully after dark?
Less daylight could mean more danger for motorists and pedestrians, troopers say
Daylight Savings Time means less daylight hours which could mean more danger for pedestrians on Alabama's roadways, Alabama State Troopers said today.
In the past two weeks, troopers have investigated two deadly traffic crashes involving pedestrians, authorities said. In Jefferson County on Oct. 20, 51-year-old Amos Holt Jr. was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado on Pinson Valley Parkway at approximately 10:40 p.m. A 24-year-old man was also struck by the car but survived.
Also in recent weeks, a 74-year-old man was killed in St. Clair County. And, in just one day this week in Birmingham, a woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run and a man was killed while riding his bicycle.
With Alabamians turning back their clocks on Sunday, troopers are urging motorists and pedestrians alike to be even more careful as they travel the state's roadways.
