One of my tutoring groups at school is for 5th grade math ~ I mentioned in chat last night that I'm finding that "challenging" ~ ~ we flew by long division, decimals, and angles/area with few problems ~ but now we are working with "powers" and "exponents" ~ I don't remember learning a LOT of what I'm tutoring these days ~ but the kidlets seem to love helping me help them ~ yesterday, Robert said: "See, Ms Sooz ~ we're all learning together" ~ we went thru the same thing last year when they were teaching me "lattice multiplication" [which I still find mind-boggling] ~ so I'm printing out and bringing the picture below to school next Wednesday ~ Sooz
