It's a sea slug, more commonly called a "sea bunny".

Monday, July 20, 2015, 3:18 PM - Last week, the internet erupted with images of Jorunna parva -- a sea slug that looks like a furry bunny.

Scientists have known about these 'sea bunny slugs' for some time, but Journna became internet famous after a few photos of the creatures made their way onto Twitter.

The slugs are tiny, growing to just over an inch in length, and are typically found off the coasts of Japan and the Philippines.

Its rabbit-like 'ears' are called rhinophores and they help the slugs detect the scent of nearby food. Jorunna can retract their rhinophores to protect them from being damaged.

Jorunna parva is part of a group of soft-bodied mollusks called nudibranchs.

Other varieties of this group can be found in the Atlantic Ocean and around the coasts of Ireland.

Shouldn't be too long before we start eating them as we continue to over-harvest the oceans.

Should take about 14,000 pelts to get a fur muff.
