While this might not be important to some of you, as you get old(er) like me it becomes more relevant.

I check the obits in my online hometown newspaper every day. I scan the list and then click on that person's obit if I see a familiar name. If it is someone I knew, I can sign the online "guest book" to convey my condolences. In the past they have listed full names. For women, that usually includes their maiden name if they are married. Well, now they don't do that on the list. If I want to see a person's full name, I have to click on every damn obit. I've sent them an email of complaint.

I once asked my Dad, when he was older, why he read the obits every day. He said "Just want to make sure my name isn't there!" lol. Now, I know why he did it.

Have you tried hovering over the link, instead of clicking it? Possibly the full name might show up that way. If not, you might suggest to the newspaper that they encode the page to do that.
