VERY cool! ~ I truly love this, and the "teaching moments" surrounding the role-model picks ~

I love those five kick-ass women and think they are great role models.

However, in defense of Disney Princesses, they are kick-ass now. Back when we were young we had the fairly passive Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Cinderella. They were all beautiful and kind and waited around for their princes to come.

Not so with this generation of Princesses. Disney's latest film is Frozen based on Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen. Both Queen Elsa and her younger sister Anna fight to save Arandelle (their kingdom) from ruin. The great love story in this film is between the two sisters.

And Mulan, and Lilo and even Rapunzel was a strong woman. But I agree that teaching your daughter what real women have accomplished is a great thing.

Not only that, but "Once Upon a Time" has recast the roles of Snow White and others as strong, fierce women.
