This person does not post often, but his blog makes me giggle.

The name of the site is this, with the added disclaimer.

Here is the article. Those of you who fly will appreciate this, especially since the airlines are constantly adding extraneous charges to the price of a seat.

Air Canada to charge $50 fee for extra oxygen in economy class

Canada’s largest Airline announced this morning that beginning Nov. 1 there will be a $50 fee for passengers wishing to breathe a little easier on Canadian, US, and International flights for those in economy class.

That isn’t to say there will be no oxygen for those not willing to fork out, insists the airline, but oxygen will be kept at levels just high enough to prevent hypoxia.

Air Canada said the new charge—to be paid by passengers at check-in or during a flight if they’re feeling light-headed or about to pass out—is expected to affect 85 per cent of its travellers, or some 14.5 million passengers per year

“This is the future of commercial airlines,” said Susan Tremblay, senior marketing manager for Air Canada. “User-pay systems such as this allows us to keep fares as low as possible, which of course benefits the customers and opens the door to air travel to even more Canadians.”

Customers who fly business or first class will be given all the oxygen they need, and then some, without any addition charges—a decision that has angered some on social media.

“So passengers in first class can fart up a storm and not have to fork out $50 to breathe??? Bulls*it,” tweeted one angry customer named DeAtH2HaRpEr who probably doesn’t fly much anyway.

WestJet is expected to follow suit, as they have already announced a fee for checked baggage on all Canadian and US flights.

Just had a vision of all the seats having coin/credit card slots in them. For a twoonie, one of the little masks they always show us at the beginning of a flight would drop down and you would get twenty minutes of oxygen. For ten dollars - 20 on international flights - you could get the whole flight.

And no carry-on O2 either.
