There are so many kind of apples, that if you ate a new one everyday, it would take over 20 years to try them all.

Apples most pesticide-laden fruits in the U.S. according to industry report :eek

How can anything you eat not be organic. This "organic" craze is the biggest huckster racket since women's internal massages.

For the purpose of apples and potatoes, it indicates that the dangerous chemicals are not used in farming practices. For apples, it is no pesticides. for potatoes, it is no use of herbicides (to kill the leftover vines) that seep down into the earth where you plant the next crop of potatoes. While the fruit and vegetables may be, I'm relatively sure that most of the industrial herbicides and pesticides are not organic. If you want to eat them, have at it.

"Organic" farmers get their ability to label their produce as organic through their growing processes. for the most part they use as many pesticides as other farmers except their pesticides are called organic pesticides in that they are not chemically based. That does not mean, however, that they are any safer for human consumption than the other pesticides. They aren't and, because people tend to be less careful in washing and preparing "organic" produce, the risk is greater with "organic" produce.

That doesn't mean much, however, because the risk with either type of pesticide, is minute. Even with normal pesticides, for example, a child would have to eat 1500 strawberries during the course of a day in order to get anywhere near the lower levels for negative consequences.

Like I said, the "organic" fad is a scam.
