My step grand daughter's first album was released tonight on all platforms. We're so proud of her. She worked so hard to get to this point.

Things have been going great guns for her since the release. Honkmagazine, which is mainly about black indie artists, listed one of her songs as one of their top 20 for the week. (I don't think they realize she isn't black. She's brown.) She had hoped to get a thousand streams within a week and she hit 1600 within two days. Indie Spoonful, an Indie review blog, gave her a great review. StingRay, the tv music channel, has included a couple of her songs in their regular indie rotation and KISS FM, one of the big rock radio stations in Toronto and part of a chain of stations across the country, has said that, if the streams keep growing, they will start to include her in their rotation.

The funny thing is, her cousin Aniqua came back from Toronto with us for a few days. This afternoon she was out on the balcony and I could hear her singing. Her voice is every bit as good as Ayesha's and the songs she had written and sung were more of a country rock style and a real pleasure to listen to. She should have a go at music for a career too.

She's up to over three thousand streams and has been written up and her album promoted by some Indie magazine in Mexico.
