Well, it's official.

They mystery critter who has been raiding our trash cans is......(drum roll)......a stray cat. I heard a noise about midnight last night, went downstairs and flipped the light on, and sure enough- young kitty perched on the edge of the can. It froze as in "if I don't move they can't see me" so I opened the door and it took off over the six foot stockade fence. Roundabout 1:30AM, same thing, only this time all I could see was tail in the can. I chased him/her off again. Can't be a good thing to be eating garbage, but then again, the poor thing must be hungry to brave a tall fence and the small of a really big dog.

We've known there was a stray around this summer, and hubby & dd saw her and 4 young ones over the weekend when they were riding bikes. Naturally, my daughter wants to "adopt them all"!!!
I said "NO". Lids are on the cans now...we'll see what happens tonight.

LMAO!

Well, she already talked me into leaving a bowl of food out for them. Score 1-0.

You can get a great big bag of barn cat food for strays. There are a couple women who do that around this town. They know where all the stray cats are and they feed them all, bless their souls.
