Sylvia on Saturday
Grandma, standing near my chair,
Holding Sylvie in her arms,
Teaching. What does kitty say?
SSSSSSSSSS when she's mad!
SSSSSSSSSSSSSS goes grandma.
SSSSSSSS says Sylvie,
SSSSSSSSS past perfect new teeth,
and she scrunches her nose
And grins and SSSSSSSSSSS's again.
I can see she thinks Grandma's
SSSSSSilly!
Beside my chair, me looking on,
Grandma's taught Sylvie silly.
What a sweet gift that is,
Sharing silly with a child.
They're laughing together,
Slyvie hugs her gramdma with a flourish,
First flinging wide her arms.
Embracing is the word for it.
A long embrace, a long, warm hug
I Love You passes wordlessly between.
