IT'S JUST PAPER

By paper artist http://www.behance.net/calvinnicholls">http://www.behance.net/ca...hance.net/calvinnicholls" href="http://www.behance.net/calvinnicholls" target=_blank>http://www.behance.net/calvinnicholls color=#445f78>http://www.behance.net/calvinnicholls>Calvin Nicholls. There is nothing simple or ordinary about his paper art. Where we would simply use a piece of paper and a pair of scissors, Calvin uses everything you could possibly think of to carve, cut and rip perfect details onto his creations. The motifs are all wildlife, and that must be one of the hardest categories of things to make with paper since there are sometimes impossible details on animals.

I am so curious about exactly how he does this. Layers of paper glued together maybe? But that might make the paper too stiff for the delicate details.......I don't know.  The cat that I posted first on the other board impressed me the most. All the tiny little hairs must take hours and hours.

PS: kudos to Yuku for finally fixing the jpeg feature! I hadn't tried it in a while. Now, off to post a picture of an angel elsewhere. Image

I'm wondering if he has a 3D printer.

BTW: I love the birds.

Maybe so, Sid, for the base. Still, he'd have to do the fur/feathers and such by hand.
