Is anyone else as tired as I am of all the freaking "foodie" recipes that are pushed by people who have nothing better to do? "Cilantro infused, lemon curd, blah, blah sauce" Give me a break! I want plain recipes. Easy dishes that we can make after a long day's work. I see the recipe title and think "That sounds good" Then I read the ingredients. ![]() And, while I'm at it, what is with mags like "Woman's World"? EVERY freaking week their cover has: "I lost 500 lbs in 3 weeks" (ok, so I exaggerate. Sue me ![]() "The miracle exercise for your ....butt, hips, thighs or whatever" THEN under those screeching headlines: "Fantastic 1 million calorie desserts to make in minutes" "Super fudgy chocolate cake with bourbon icing" See the disconnect? The irony? I used to read it religiously until I finally noticed. Hmph! I'm ready for some real recipes that an average person who doesn't have a 1000 bottle/container collection of herbs and spices, or "infusions" can make. I'm ready for mags to be honest. "This diet/exercise is crap and eating any of our desserts will just make you fat, but go ahead. Life is short." ![]() |

I'm with you Rose. My typical approach to cooking is to take a recipe and figure out how to make it simpler and easier. Over-complication is the bane of good tucker! |
