Wonder if soaking it overnight (like beans but for a different reason) would remove some of the starch. It works for dried pasta to soak it for 2-3 minutes. We prefer fresh pasta but don't have the patience to make it.

roseanne and oskar, a lot of grocery stores are now carrying "fresh pasta" ~ here, it's usually in the refrigerator section with butter, eggs, etc ~

We have an almost local guy who makes it but he's an hour's drive away. We do get some when we're in the area, though. There's a micro-brew just down the road from him so we stock up there as well. Then there are the local vineyards, distillers, fish mongers, smoke houses/sausage makers, other foodie people. I love living around here.
Speaking of smoke houses, we'll be trying our hand at making Montreal smoked meat next month.

We buy breaded and frozen haddock filets. Does that count? We really like them.

I love lots of seafood [shrimp, lobster, crab, scallops] but I'm not much of a fish eater ~ as kids, we grew up with meat/potatoes/veggies ~ but I do LOVE sea bass and haddock ~

I don't like fish much either, unless it's breaded. LOL.

My favorite fresh fish is catfish. Breaded and fried, of course. :b It's a southern thang.

Although, I do enjoy salmon. Grilled on a cedar plank with some maple glaze or salmon patties. Hubby hates it, so it's not something I ever cook.

Crab cakes too.

IOW, I like my seafood disguised. Maybe if we lived somewhere like oskar and could get it really fresh, we'd eat more "naked" like his haddock recipe.

mmmmm...no. We rarely eat naked. Spill some hot coffee or cold ice cream and you wouldn't either.

Last night's dinner was chicken cordon bleu, stir fried veggies and tomatoes/cucumber salad with avocado dressing.

Another keeper.

Had it with potatoes/bacon bits and sautéed spinach/carrot/onion veggie mix.

Bottling 50-60 bottles of wine tomorrow morning.

Edit: We ended up with 63 bottles.

I would love to try those. No such thing here......that I know of. Had tons and tons in Alabama, but didn't know they were edible or I would have.

The fiddleheads are over with for the season. We got 2 huge feeds, though.
Check around with the locals. They're only fern shoots.

Last night: Lamb chops, fresh green beans and oven potatoes. Local craft beer for beverage (Roof Hound IPA).

The taters were super. Cut them in 1/2"slices, tossed with olive oil and baked on a rack @400F for about 20-25 minutes in the convection toaster oven.
