Right now they are pushing Radlers. Beer with fruit juice...grapefruit or lemon mostly. I don't like beer so yuk! But, in the tv ad they show a Radler in front of a plate of pancakes. Double yuk!!

I don't get it.

It all went downhill after the lime wedges started... :lol

But these days there are so many craft beers fighting for attention, anything is possible.

( PS- I don't drink beer. lol)

A Radler is an absolutely normal drink in the South of Germany since probably a hundred years. Half beer and half carbonated LEMONADE! Not juice, not craft beers (yuck).
As the name says it is a favorite drink for riders of bicycles (Radler) since it is very refreshing and has half the alcohol of course.
As a kid I used to "radel" from Munich to Berchtesgaden and had of course a "radler" in one of their beergardens before turning around to get back home. Absolutely normal.

I'm not a beer drinker ~ but I did get a kick out of our resident/famed German beer drinker declaring a less-than-appealing concoction "absolutely normal" ~ :b

We're talking quality Bavarian beers mixed with quality, old-fashioned Bavarian clear lemonade.
And then, of course, young kids on their bicycles. They get it in a 1/2 Liter glass, dad gets a Radler Mass, a full liter, since he still has to get the kids safely home. :D

Thanks for the info jab. I do have to ask though...would you wash down pancakes with one of those? I wouldn't even wash them down with lemonade, much less one mixed with beer.
