I know and easily admit I'm not the best judge of anything 'Christian', but my first reaction to reading this [especially the paragraph I emphasized/bolded below] was 'a new way to bilk the public' ~ Image ~ Sooz

This is what is meant by 'taking the Lord's name in vain."

It's no different, imo, than the churches who have a house of horrors during the Halloween season that is suppose to scare you with the threat of eternal damnation to hell if you aren't saved. Only on a smaller scale, of course.

Besides, I'm sure that a large part of their patronage doesn't give one hoot about the religious theme and are just there to ride good rides. I never thought about which six flags flew over the theme parks, nor did I care about their significance. Image  People can only be bilked only if they allow it. I figure if they have a great time, that's what it's all about. And....a lot of the themes are historical whether they have any religious bent or not.

The tax-free status, I have a problem with.Image  What a bunch of hooey.

ORLANDO -- Most amusement parks offer guests rides, shows and loveable characters. But one Florida park also provides daily communion.

This is the communion service where they use those low-cal, low-carb, glutin-free, no-preservative communion wafers.  Brand name is "I can't Believe It's Not Jesus!"

"Orlando Theme Park Built for Jesus"

... but Jesus threw up after the Holy Roller-coaster ride.
